Frequently Asked Questions - Tayfun Silver

Tolerances & Inspection Window

Wholesale jewellery production allows for defined tolerances, and incoming goods should be inspected promptly.

Tolerances & Inspection Window

Which variations are considered acceptable and how quickly deliveries should be checked.

Are small differences in weight, plating tone or stone shade always considered defects?

No. Small variations within accepted technical tolerances are generally considered normal in wholesale jewellery production and are not automatically treated as defects.

Is there an example tolerance approach for weight?

Unless a different written tolerance applies to the product, the framework references small acceptable deviations, for example around batch-level tolerance bands. Specific technical documents prevail where they exist.

Can small count variations in mixed or bulk packs be acceptable?

In some cases, yes. Minor count differences may be acceptable where they remain within agreed tolerances and are commercially balanced within the batch structure.

How soon should the goods be inspected after delivery?

The buyer should inspect the goods promptly after delivery. In the trade framework, an inspection window such as 72 hours is commonly referenced unless a different period has been agreed in writing.

Can claims be rejected if they are submitted too late?

Yes. Claims submitted outside the inspection window may be rejected, especially where it becomes difficult to distinguish delivery-stage issues from later handling or retail use.
